Blog Catalog online research tool

I like chasing blogs to find out the good stuff. I often use Google Alerts to show me what's hot. In addition, if you find a good blog you can make a relevant post that will also help your marketing efforts. Try Blog Catalog to find good blogs.

Blog Catalog

Blog Catalog (http://blogcatalog.com) is useful for finding blogs on certain topics, so you can add them to your RSS reader for research and topic ideas. They claim to be the largest user-submitted blog directory.

To browse by category, click “Browse” at the top of the page:

This will bring you to a category list. You can also find the subcategories listed. Here is a sampling of the categories. There are actually a total of 18 main categories.

Blogs are listed by “popularity” and seemingly sponsored listings also get some preference. You can also search for topics and blogs.

When you view a blog, you can browse the posts, read reviews of the blog and even search the blog for specific topics. At the top, you’ll see Google Ads, but you’ll find the blog content below that.

If you scroll to the bottom of the page, you can also see the current popular blog topics. Just click any of the links to view posts on the topic.
